From Boston:
Take 95 North to Portsmouth. Take the left exit to Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16). Stay on 16 North for approximately 75 miles. (Highway will become a two-way road). Do NOT take 113 the first time you cross it (Deer Hill Rd.) Instead continue another 10 miles through two traffic lights in Conway, NH, proceeding straight on Route 113 to Route 302 East into Fryeburg. Go through the light in the center of Fryeburg and look for Fryeburg Academy on the right. Bear left onto Route 5 North. Indian Acres is 2 1/2 miles on the left. Look for a red fence that says Indian Acres.


From New York:
Take the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) North to Route 91 North. Follow 91 North to Hartford. Take 84 East to Sturbridge to the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East. Take the Mass. Pike East to Route 495 North. Follow 495 North to 95 North to Portsmouth. Take the left exit to Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16). Stay on 16 North for approximately 75 miles. From Portland Airport:
Follow signs at Airport to "Airport Exit." At traffic light, take left onto Route 22 West. Follow Route 22 West and take right onto Route 114 North to Gorham. At Gorham Pizza, take a left on Route 25 West. Take Route 25 West until bearing right onto Route 113 North. Follow Route 113 North to traffic light in center of Fryeburg. Turn right onto Route 302. Look for Fryeburg Academy on the right. Bear left onto Route 5 North. Indian Acres is 2 1/2 miles on the left. Look for a red fence that says Indian Acres.


For those not driving to camp: A convenient and inexpensive option for travel to camp is taking a bus to Conway, NH (only 20 minutes from camp!) Current schedules and fares are available at the Greyhound website. Concord Coach Lines also has bus service to Conway from Boston and Manchester.

Portland is over an hour drive each way, so we encourage non-driving campers to make Conway, NH their destination, rather than Portland if at all possible. Your Mainewoods volunteers are stretched very thin, and trips to Portland become quite time-consuming and take us away from the work that needs to be done at camp. For those who are flying, a flight to Boston with a bus to Conway could be an option. Mainewoods asks for a suggested donation of $30.00 per person each way for a Portland trip or $10.00 per person each way for a Conway trip.

Another alternative is to fly into Manchester, NH, which often has very low airfares, and rent a car.
