KITCHEN WORK SCHOLARSHIPS
A limited number of full kitchen scholarships are available for each session. Travel expenses are not included. Scholarship persons are expected to assist the kitchen staff in serving meals and snacks, and in setting tables and cleaning up the dining area and kitchen. The daily schedule allows for participation in most of the dance classes and the major part of each evening dance party.

FOR NEW APPLICANTS: Interested parties should write a letter stating his/her reasons for requesting a scholarship and indicating his/her interests and any folk dancing and/or musical instrument experience (none is required). Please include at least one letter of reference.

FOR FORMER SCHOLARSHIP PERSONS: Submit a brief note stating your interest in returning.

ALL APPLICANTS: Please submit a completed registration form indicating your session preferences, but no deposit money, to the Registrar, and your scholarship application to:

Scholarships will be assigned as qualified candidates’ letters are received. The deadline for receipt of applications is June 30, 2008.





GEORGE BASS MEMORIAL DANCE SCHOLARSHIP
One full dance scholarship will be granted each session to a new folk dancer to honor the memory of George Bass, a long-time friend of Mainewoods. Travel expenses are not included. Qualifications are:

      (1)      Applicant has been folk dancing for at least 1 year
      (2)      Applicant demonstrates an interest in folk dance, folk music and/or folk culture
      (3)      Applicant provides a letter of reference from a leader of a group with whom he/she dances
      (4)      Applicant plans to share dances learned at Mainewoods with his/her own dance group

Applicants should send a letter of application that includes a brief background, why he/she wants to attend camp, and what use he/she will make of the experience.

Please submit a completed registration form indicating your session preferences, but no deposit money, and submit all documents to:
