Mainewoods Staff

Many of our staff members are unpaid volunteers. We all believe in Mainewoods as an enduring concept and gladly and willingly give of our time to make it work!


Dan Bishop is our resident sound system expert, produces our camp videotapes, and assists with our camp newspaper. He also serves on our Board of Directors.

Helen Blum is our camp Registrar, and for years has made Mainewoods' wonderful nametags.

Kathleen Carroll is one of our Resource Room treasures. If you need a costume, decorations, or craft supplies, check with Kathleen!

Christine Chattin is our "ethnic food consultant." A marvelous cook, she keeps us happy and healthy with an amazing variety of gustatory delights.

Ping Chun is the summer editor of Mainewoods Memories, the camp newspaper. Ping was also our very first Mainewoods Board President!

George Fogg is indispensable in the kitchen and is always willing to fill in whenever and wherever he is needed. Fortunately for us, he is always there to teach English Country and American dances when called upon.

Bill Havens is our treasurer, and is also a member of the Mainewoods Board.

Roy Hilburn calls a mean square and popular line dances. He also dances a mean Cajun. We never know what he’ll put together for our weekly talent show — that depends on YOU!

Regina Laskowski is one of our Resource Room treasures. If you need a costume, decorations, or craft supplies, check with Regina!

Bernie Rappaport is our camp videographer. He videotapes the review session on Thursday and works most of the night to have copies ready for campers before they leave.

Cecille Ratney is our accountant. This year she is hoping to join you at the morning classes.

Betty Reswick is returning this year as our invaluable camp laundress.

Sandy Starkman is our Camp Coordinator and Program Director. She oversees the teaching schedule and leads our evening dance parties with just the right mix of dances.

Patricia Williams works in the office and runs our binge. During the winter, she chairs the Teacher Programming Committee.

Alan Wright is our camp "gofer" and jack of all trades. If anything needs to be done, Alan is there to help.

Jeannine Wright is our on-site Kitchen Scholarship Coordinator. You will find her working alongside the scholarship staff before and after meals.

David Yee is our Man Friday for all sessions. He will make some sweeping changes at Mainewoods! Ask him about his extensive folk music and archival material collection.
